American Airlines targets Europe with cargo.one deal
American Airlines has signed an agreement to expand its capacity on the electronic reservation platform, cargo.one.
From Europe, freight forwarders will be able to access the transporter area in real time and book with instant confirmation. The service will then be extended to the whole world.
The U.S. carrier says demand for digital reservations is increasing due to ever-changing flight schedules during the pandemic. This has resulted in the need for reliable, real-time capacity information and a clear overview of routes and available services.
Cargo President and Vice President of Innovation and Operations Delivery Jessica Tyler explained, “We are continually looking for ways to improve our digital capabilities and deliver more solutions to our customers, in the aim to always exceed their expectations. This partnership with cargo.one is a strategic way for us to make our freight capacity more accessible within the industry.
The new platform would give customers immediate and real-time access to solutions to meet their transportation needs, she said, adding: “I firmly believe that the freight industry must continue to innovate. to enable us to engage with our clients in a more personal, and certainly a much more effective, way. Flexibility and speed are more important than ever, and the industry must continue to find ways to adapt quickly.
Cargo.one Founder and CEO Moritz Claussen said, “What better way to grow our footprint in America than with American Airlines? We are launching a new era of customer-centric air cargo sales in North America, demonstrating our ambition to become the go-to platform for freight forwarders in the United States and beyond. “
