Happy Memorial Day! If you’re expecting a package, you might be wondering if FedEx delivers on Memorial Day 2021 or Monday, May 31. Depending on how you placed your order, you may have to wait until the next business day.
Most FedEx services are closed on Memorial Day, according to the FedEx website. The website says FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx SmartPost, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Trade Networks are all closed. FedEx Office operates on modified hours and FedEx Custom Critical will be open, the website said.

FedEx Custom Critical remains open on Memorial Day 2021, the FedEx website said. Custom critical services include additional services for items “requiring special care, temperature control or enhanced security,” the website says. This also includes expedited service delivery, the website continued.
“Access expedited ground freight shipping solutions, including rush delivery and exclusive use vehicles,” the website says.
Services also include expedited air deliveries and services for temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals and other critical needs.
“Safely transport your temperature-sensitive health, pharmaceutical and diagnostic products to wholesalers, hospitals and clinics in the United States,” the website says.
In addition, they also offer transportation management and brokerage of truck loads, the website says.
âKeep your supply chain running smoothly and efficiently. Outsource your entire transportation management system or just a single truckload, âthe website says.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused widespread shipping delays since early 2020, which begin with procurement, according to Bloomberg. The problem is experienced across the board, is not specific to any company, and is impacting businesses around the world, the outlet said. The supply chain problem and increased demand for shipping services due to COVID-19 are causing delays and, unfortunately, can continue through 2021, Bloomberg reported.
âGlobal supply chains are a mess,â Bloomberg reported. âThere are shortages in a bunch of different products and components, which are further compounded by massive delays and traffic jams in shipments and other forms of transportation.â
FedEx directly addresses these delays and informs customers of shipping delays on their website.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has created record shipping volumes,” the website says. âAs more and more people shop online to avoid the crowds in the stores, these numbers have increased further. This has created shipping volumes that weigh on logistics networks nationwide, which can lead to delays. “
FedEx also has a money-back guarantee for its FedEx Express services, the website says. It was reinstated on April 6, 2021.
“As of April 6, 2021, the money back guarantee will be reinstated for certain FedEx Express services for import / export shipments to the United States and the United States,” the website says.
