ElectraMeccanica’s SOLO Cargo EV will debut in Chicago
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ElectraMeccanica Corp. Vehicles (NASDAQ: SOLO) (“ElectraMeccanica” or the “Company”), a designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles specifically designed for city and suburban delivery and commuter needs, today announced that the company will introduce its SOLO Cargo EV for the first time at National Restaurant Association Show which will take place at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL from May 21-24.
The SOLO Cargo EV is one of the only commercially viable, delivery-ready electric vehicles designed around the principle that most catering and food delivery businesses do not need – and are often disadvantaged by – the use of full-size cars, vans, or trucks. The SOLO Cargo vehicle also offers safety, weather and temperature protection advantages over two-wheeled options such as scooters, motorcycles and bicycles. The all-electric, three-wheeled solution – which is available to order now for business customers – offers restaurateurs, chains and franchisees a more efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional third-party delivery options. The SOLO Cargo EV also offers customers a branded packaging option that promotes their business, while ensuring that the quality of their product remains in their control. The SOLO Cargo EV has a lower total cost of ownership than traditional ICE vehicles and is supported by the delivery of complete, ready-to-use fleets, as well as packaging, upfitting and telematics.
“Delivery has never been more important in the takeout industry, which is exactly why every restaurant needs a smaller, electric, enclosed delivery vehicle option,” said Kevin Pavlov, CEO from ElectraMeccanica. “SOLO Cargo is truly the only name in this game that is ready to meet the needs of businesses and their customers right now. We look forward to introducing our SOLO Cargo to the nation’s largest restaurant chains, which can achieve outsized operational and marketing value through reduced carbon footprints and transportation costs.
The SOLO Cargo EV is now available to order by phone or email – all at an accessible MSRP of $24,500. First shipments are scheduled for June 2022.
