A cargo delivery worker died while his colleague was injured after being shot by two unidentified suspects on a motorbike outside Macro Distributors Inc. at Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City after 9am yesterday, March 11.
Capt. Elmer Bonilla, commander of Police Station 7, identified the death as Johnny Tamondong, 36, of Barangay Buenavista, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
His colleague and neighbor Elias Baal, 29, was injured, Bonilla said.
Investigation showed that Tamondong was riding his motorcycle with Baal as the rear rider when the shooting occurred.
Both Tamandong and Baal were taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), but the former succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police recovered two spent cartridges from a 9mm pistol from the scene of the crime.
Bonilla said they considered a grudge as a possible motive for the incident.
He said Tamondong’s wife informed them that he had received threats before he was killed.
He added that they are still gathering additional information to determine the identities of the suspects.*
