Orca AI, the developer of the first automated situational awareness platform, has partnered with Maran Tankers Management (MTM) to further develop fleet situational awareness and safe navigation in waterways crowded.

Orca AI brings pioneering artificial intelligence technologies to the shipping industry to maximize safe travel and operational efficiency for ships and fleets. Powered by machine learning and computer vision algorithms purpose-built for the maritime industry, Orca AI’s automated situational awareness platform empowers onboard crews to make data-driven decisions in the waters crowded. The platform allows fleet managers and ship owners to have better transparency on the safety performance of their fleet and better identify areas that can still be improved.

The intelligence gained through Orca AI dramatically improves the safety of merchant shipping, which is facing myriad security challenges with increasing vessel congestion on the oceans over the past 2 years. Nearly 4,000 maritime accidents occur each year and a number of these are partly caused by poor situational awareness in congested areas and human error, as well as a fundamental lack of insight and insufficient data. on potential incidents.

Mr. Mark Pearson, Managing Director of Maran Tankers Management (MTM), “Crude oil shipping is a very complex business. Our approach focused on security as well as our openness to technological innovation pushes us to be constantly on the lookout for cutting-edge solutions to reduce security risks. With Orca AI, crews in the MTM fleet now have additional highly advanced navigation equipment to use that enables real-time, data-driven decisions.

Mr. Yarden Gross, CEO and Co-Founder of Orca AI: “We are delighted that an industry leader such as Maran Tankers Management (MTM) has chosen Orca AI to further enhance the safety of its fleet. Greek shipping has always been a cornerstone of global shipping and today it is at the forefront of adopting new cutting-edge technologies. We are delighted to support Maran Tankers Management (MTM) as they continue to lead the way at sea.”
