Siemens Logistics focuses on automating and digitalizing air freight
Siemens Logistics aims to develop airport logistics with a focus on automation and digitalization of air cargo and baggage handling products and solutions.
Following the sale of the parcel and mail business of Siemens Logistics to the Körber Group, the airport logistics solutions business remains with Siemens AG and will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary within the corporate group.
“We are delighted that our parcel business – and especially our former Siemens Parcel Logistics employees – have found a new, sustainable home in Körber. The complementary technologies of Körber and Siemens Parcel Logistics, as well as the regional structures, are perfectly suited and form a solid entrepreneurial basis for the future,” said Michael Reichle, Managing Director of Siemens Logistics and former Managing Director of Siemens Parcel Logistics. .
He explained: ““We are seeing a marked increase in demand for air travel. After the past two years, airport operators are now looking for solutions that will increase their overall efficiency while remaining quick and flexible to implement. We are in an ideal position here with our portfolio of high-performance hardware and intelligent cloud-based software combined with our international presence. This allows us to offer targeted support to our customers as their businesses continue to recover strongly. »
