Trucking Company Donates Baby Formula

Baby Luca joined his mother Kayla at State Representative Jerry Knowles’ office in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania for formula milk.
To help address the ongoing shortage of formula in Schuylkill County, New Tamaqua Truck & Trailer LLC donated 60 boxes of formula to the Rep’s office to help moms like Kayla.
“There’s time when I go, and they only have one can left. So I have to research or make an alternate formula to figure out what would be best for his digestive system. I try not to give him so much, keep him and give him more food, but that doesn’t always work,” explained Kayla Rothernel of Tamaqua.
She’s not the only mother in Schuylkill County struggling to feed her baby.
Tamaqua’s Kim Halye says she had to switch her daughter to a different formula because she can’t find the one she needs anywhere.
“During her nine months of life, we had her with one formula. It was difficult at first because I was scared; I didn’t want her to go without it, I didn’t want to change”, Hayle shares.
Rep. Knowles says he is grateful to owners of New Tamaqua Truck & Trailer LLC, Jane and Tom Perkins, for putting this together.
“We are just thrilled to be able to be the convoy to give it to the people. They’re the ones who organized it and delivered the formula here,” adds Rep. Knowles of the 124th District.
“Without him, we wouldn’t have that extra box, and believe it or not, it can go a long way,” Hayle says.
Anyone can stop by the Reps office on East Broad Street in Tamaqua for a free box of baby formula while supplies last.
