ATA calls bipartisan bill a major victory for industry and nation

Arlington, Virginia – American Trucking Associations, the largest and most comprehensive trade association representing all sectors of the trucking industry, welcomes the passage this evening of the Infrastructure Investment Act and use. The ATA says the bipartisan bill strengthens road safety, creates new career prospects in trucking, strengthens the supply chain with overdue investments, and lays the foundation for long-term economic growth.

ATA President and CEO Chris Spear released this statement after the bill was passed:

“Roads and bridges are not political – we all drive on them. A majority in the House understood that today and did what is right for the country, not for itself.

“From farmers to truckers, the millions of hard workers who make this country great have won today. These lawmakers who put their constituents ahead of them to help seal this achievement have cemented a lasting legacy that the American people will see, feel and use for many decades to come.

“After countless hearings and meetings on Capitol Hill, ATA members will finally see the fruits of their labor – a 38% increase in funding for roads and bridges, and an infusion of highly skilled young talent in our hand. -work. “

Passing a comprehensive infrastructure investment bill has long been a high priority for the association, which includes more than 34,000 motor carriers and industry suppliers across the United States. In recent years, Spear and the ATA member companies have testified 24 times on Capitol Hill to urge the federal government to invest more in roads and bridges.
