Worldwide Flight Services Acquires Texas-Based Freight Carrier

French company Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) announced on Friday it has acquired Pinnacle Logistics, a provider of cargo handling services for the US aviation market.

The acquisition is part of WFS ‘business growth strategy, which includes accelerating revenue from cargo handling through increased e-commerce services, officials said.

“The acquisition of Pinnacle Logistics enhances our core value proposition for freight and express cargo handling to customers, and Pinnacle’s established trucking logistics business further expands our service offering,” said Michael Simpson, WFS executive vice president for the Americas, in a statement.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Pinnacle Logistics, based in Fort Worth, Texas, focuses on specialized handling of express freight for e-commerce customers. The company offers LTL and FTL line shipping, flatbed and heavy haul services, as well as airport / bed transfer services on wheels, local delivery and customs bonded freight, simplified warehouse management .

Pinnacle Logistics has 13 locations across the United States, with 10 facilities in Texas, as well as operations in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Windsor Locks, Connecticut and Minneapolis.

Pinnacle Logistics operates 100 motor vehicles with 92 drivers, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

WFS provides freight, passenger, premium, ramp, baggage and technical services to 170 global locations in more than 22 countries. The company has more than 22,000 employees worldwide.
